Bluegrass was built with generations of show blood behind it. That foundation is important because conformation is not something we added later—it is part of how the program has been shaped.
We have also brought in select top-tier hunting blood when the individual dog met our conformation requirements. That working heritage supports dual-purpose ability without changing our focus on show and companionship.
A name on paper is only the beginning.
Titles and ancestry tell us what a line has produced. Then we still have to evaluate the actual dog: structure, mind, temperament, balance and what that individual can contribute to the next generation.
That is how heritage becomes a breeding plan instead of just a list of famous names.
